ABOUT ABOUT

In 1979 Dave Torbert, founding member of the Legendary Grateful Dead Family Band "KINGFISH" headed east from San Francisco and took up residence in the artists community of New Hope, Pa. Along with Michael O'Neill, his longtime lead guitar and vocalist, they set out to build a new version of Kingfish with the best musicians Bucks County had to offer. They recruited Danny DeGennaro guitar and vocals, Steve Shive drums, and Ralph Liberto Saxophone and Keyboards. This was the last Kingfish Lineup Torbert played with before his death in 1982. Danny DeGennaro is no longer with us, but we've brought together 3 of the 5 original members in a return to New Hope, a place they called home 45 years ago, with a tribute to their former bandmates.

Michael O'Neill: Took over vocals and lead guitar in 1976 when Bob Weir and Robbie Hoddinott  left Kingfish. He wrote and sang many tunes on their second album "Trident" and fronted the band with Torbert until 1980. Recognized as one of the premier slide guitar players of our generation, Michael has toured and recorded with many artists including Delbert McClinton and Freddie King.

Steve Shive: Artist, drummer and producer has played and recorded with Daryl Hall, Tim Moore, and David Lindley and has just released his new EP "Hard Bargain."

Ralph Liberto: A mainstay in the Philadelphia music scene, Ralph has played and recorded with Johnny's Dance Band, Jon Eddie, Chet Bolins and Steve Kimock.

Rounding out the band will be: Dan Gold: Bass and vocals, currently performing with Broken Arrow, Not Tuna and formerly The Dukes of Destiny. Rich Crocker; Guitar, Ian McBride; Guitar and vocals and Larry Cohen; Keyboards, all from the band Bear's Choice. This special event is not to be missed!!!
